Rewriting the story on bad handwriting

I've always had terrible handwriting. Every teacher told me so. I won every casual class competition for who had the worst handwriting. All throughout schooling, no fix ever helped. It was a stigmatism I learned to use to my benefit throughout the years.

I had the thought recently - there are so many forms of words as art: calligraphy, chalk art, gold-foil inspirational quotes. What if I looked at my handwriting as a kind of word art, too? What if, instead of trying (in vain) to make it just like everyone else's, I embraced my handwriting for what it really is - one of a kind?

I "drew' some inspirational quotes about handwriting and writing. Looking at my handwriting as art, I actually find it pretty. It has a kind of movement to it, like a Quentin Blake sketch. There are some quotes about having terrible handwriting, in the spirit of camaraderie with those of you who have a similar "affliction" (or, rather, superpower), and there are some more heart-to-heart quotes, to remind you that even "awful" things can be beautiful.

Each print includes a card with the quote typed out (so you'll be able to read it!).

Available quotes:

"A woman's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting." - Christian Dior
"Be ruthless about protecting writing days." - J.K. Rowling
"I think that perhaps if I had had to slow down the ideas so that I could capture them on paper I might have stifled some of them." - J.K. Rowling
"I'll be writing until I can't write anymore. It's a compulsion with me. I love writing." - J.K. Rowling
"I'm ambidextrous. I can write just as poorly with either hand." - Jarod Kintz
"If you can tell stories, create characters, devise incidents, and have sincerity and passion, it doesn't matter a damn how you write." - W. Somerset Maughan
"My spelling is wobbly. It's good spelling - but it wobbles, and the letters get in all the wrong places." - Winnie-the-Pooh
"My writing looks like it's ten steps behind my mind, racing to always catch up." - Jarod Kintz
"Poets don't draw. They unravel their handwriting and then tie it up again, but differently." - Jean Cocteau
"the beauty and nobility, the august mission and destiny, of human handwriting." - George Bernard Shaw
"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you." - Ray Bradbury
